Lead SCADA Engineer
Rapidly growing third‑party O&M is actively recruiting a Lead SCADA Engineer to join the team. This is an immediate opening to lead the Control Center for the organization.
CompensationBase pay: $135,000 – $150,000 per year. Additional compensation includes an annual bonus, full benefits, and relocation assistance (if needed).
Scope of ResponsibilitiesThe Lead SCADA Engineer focuses on the development, implementation, and optimization of SCADA systems for the energy fleet. This role involves architecting data integration and network standards, designing SCADA interfaces, and serving as a technical escalation point for field personnel on SCADA‑related issues. The engineer will collaborate with vendors and teams to ensure reliable data collection, automation, and system reliability across wind, solar, and BESS assets.
Travel may be required to power plants and vendor sites.
- Design SCADA screens, alarming, and interfaces for the overarching fleet management SCADA system.
- Architect data integration standards and practices, leading the design and implementation of data collection, automation for reliability and consistency, and management of vendors for execution.
- Architect network architecture and coordinate with and manage third‑party security vendors for implementation.
- Act as the point of escalation for field personnel on event review and troubleshooting, supplementing third‑party services while monitoring costs.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for SCADA‑related alarms and issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Gather data, query databases, and perform analysis using SQL, Python, or similar tools where appropriate for SCADA optimization.
- Ensure integration of SCADA with performance tools (e.g., CMMS, forecasting software) and business processes.
- Adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements (including NERC), and company policies in all SCADA implementations.
- Proven experience in software development, scripting, and data infrastructure in industrial or energy sectors.
- Familiarity with renewable energy data (solar, wind, BESS) and tools like CMMS/ERP.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, Power
BI; experience with APIs, databases, and dashboards. - Strong problem‑solving skills, with diligence in automation and integration.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
