What You Will Do and How You Will Make an Impact:

The Maintenance Engineer will report to the shift assigned Engineering Team Manager. You will provide first response to engineering fault conditions, perform reactive and planned maintenance activities, and contribute to continuous improvement projects within our automated Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC).

• React to MHE breakdowns (mechanical and electrical), troubleshoot, analyse, and fix issues to minimize operation downtime.
• Keep accurate records of work activities, tasks carried out, and parts used through stores.
• Perform assembly and sub-assembly repairs following written instructions, blueprints and schematics.
• Collaborate with other Maintenance Engineers to increase machine reliability and support operation with planned engineering activities.
• Provide first-line support to the Operation by monitoring Grid and Robots; escalate to Engineering Operations as needed.
• Investigate stoppages on the grid, coordinate with off-site support if required, and remotely connect to Robots to resolve issues.
• Monitor status of Robots and the physical grid, investigate locked grid cells and Robot health.
• Complete quality inspections to ensure work is performed to a safe and quality standard.

The Maintenance Engineer may be asked to perform tasks as required by management. This job description summarizes typical functions and is not exhaustive; responsibilities may differ or evolve with business needs.

If hired for a Pre Go Live / Start Up site, the initial 6 to 9 months may involve training and some travel to obtain training from another site in North America. During startup, daily responsibilities may differ to support facility needs; once commissioned, the defined roles will become the daily responsibilities.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
• An Associate’s or Vocational degree in electrical or mechanical related discipline, or advanced training with a minimum of three years experience preferred.
• Experience carrying out electrical or mechanical maintenance, including predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Experience diagnosing and documenting equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and handling repairs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to impart knowledge effectively to others.
• Good organization skills and ability to prioritize.
• Must be comfortable working at heights.
• Strong technical ability relating to automation hardware and software.
• Sound analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
• Numerate and PC literate including Word, Excel, etc.
• Flexible to working a shift-based pattern including nights and weekends.

This role will require flexibility due to the facility being a 24/7 operation and a shift pattern will be used that requires working days, nights and weekends.

• Ascending or descending ladders and stairs.
• Moving between worksites and working in tight or confined spaces.
• Prolonged standing or sitting.
• Moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions; some tasks may involve moving objects heavier than 100 pounds.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.

• Low temperatures and noisy environments.

You will be based at the customer fulfillment center in the USA.
