Compensation Range: $48,331.25 - $54,571.89 (DOE)
Position SummaryAcademies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high‑performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high‑quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is seeking a passionate, data‑driven Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction and build strong foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe that all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, and consistent data‑driven decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement- Deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and interventions.
- Build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high‑expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional development.
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
- Collaborate with grade‑level teams and instructional leaders to continuously improve teaching practices.
- Contribute to school‑wide systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Lead parent‑teacher conferences and maintain strong home‑school partnerships.
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or relevant content area) OR
- Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area OR
- Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience
- Plus SEI Endorsement or completion of 45 hours of SEI training is preferred but not required
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data‑driven instructional mindset
- Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team‑based environment
