Starting at $88,000 annually (Dependent on experience)
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is seeking an exceptional school leader to serve as the Principal of our new AMS Power Campus in Mesa, Arizona. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic, high-performing charter school committed to academic excellence, strong character development, and preparing students for long-term success in college and career.
As Principal, you will serve as the instructional and operational leader of the campus, responsible for cultivating a positive school culture, driving student achievement, and developing high-quality educators. The Principal will lead teachers and staff in implementing rigorous curriculum, using student data to inform instruction, and ensuring that every scholar receives the support needed to succeed.

- Lead and coach teachers through regular classroom observations, feedback, and professional development
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and achievement-oriented school culture for students and staff
- Use student achievement data to drive instructional improvements and academic interventions
- Develop and manage systems that ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all grade levels
- Collaborate with instructional and operational teams to ensure smooth campus operations
- Partner with families and community members to strengthen engagement and support student success
- Support staff recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts to build a strong and effective school team
- Ensure compliance with state, charter, and organizational policies and procedures
- Demonstrated success in school-site leadership roles (Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean, Director, or similar leadership role)
- Proven experience leading and developing adult teams, including teachers and instructional staff
- Strong instructional leadership skills, including teacher coaching, classroom observations, and actionable feedback
- Experience working with students in underserved or at-risk communities
- Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data to inform instructional decisions
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong proficiency with technology and data systems, including Excel or similar tools
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid Arizona Principal/Administrator certification or ability to obtain certification
- Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse families and communities
- Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL)
- Knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices, including the science of reading
- Experience with standards-based instruction and K–8 curriculum alignment
- Background in mathematics, STEM education, or middle school instruction
- Experience implementing STEM-focused learning programs
- Familiarity with student assessment platforms such as NWEA MAP or similar data systems
- Minimum of three years of uninterrupted employment with AMS
- At least two years of experience in an Assistant Principal, Dean, or Director-level role
- Most recent performance evaluations reflect “Effective” ratings in all categories
