Immediate needs for Campus Approved Preceptors:
Approved Preceptor will supervise and mentor student in a clinical setting. This clinical education experience provides students with authentic, real-time opportunities to practice and integrate the knowledge, skills, decision making, and professional behaviors required of the profession in order to develop proficiency as an Athletic Trainer under the direct supervision of the Approved Preceptor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* • Remain current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise
* • Supervise and provide formal or informal instruction to athletic training students in the clinical setting
* • Test clinical proficiency on a weekly basis; submit proficiency grades to Athletic Training Education Program in a timely manner
* • Verify students are meeting their hour requirements for successful completion of the clinical course
* Requirements:
* • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
* • Minimum of 1 year Board of Training certification (please attach to application)
* • Arizona state athletic training license (please attach to application]
* Must successfully pass a drug screen test.
* Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
* Must be a current staff member with managerial approval, salaried status, rather than hourly.
