Job Description

Responsible for planning and implementing instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Educating students directly through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments.

The appropriate certified candidate must possess Arizona Special Education certification, Cross Categorical or Mild Moderate. SEI endorsement preferred.

Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

2026-27 school year; 194 work days (216 day teacher calendar)

Certified

Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement)

• Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
