The College of Engineering and Technology, is seeking a full time faculty member to teach Civil Engineering for the traditional ground campus.

** GCU's Main Campus, 33rd Ave. and Camelback Phoenix, Arizona

* What you will do:

*** Equip students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.
* Teach undergraduate courses within the major, mentors and assists undergraduate majors in electrical engineering outside classroom hours.
* Assist administration in driving curriculum design & development.
* Work with leadership on strategic planning initiatives advancing engineering education.
* Develop and administer forward-thinking short and long term plans for development and growth.
* Assist the University in building a solid foundation for growth of engineering programs.
* Foster and promote diversity and collegiality among faculty, students, and staff and is an advocate for change.
* Develop and maintain relationships with industry to support internships, project collaborations, industrial mentoring and Capstone projects.
* Assist the Dean in developing internal and external communities that promote the major field of study, college, and University.
** What you need:
*** Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
* An active Professional Engineer License (PE) in any state.
* An extensive, advanced, and current knowledge of Civil Engineering, specifically, in one of the following sub-disciplines – Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning, Water Resources, or a closely related field.
* Able to teach related coursework in Civil Engineering.
* Ability to articulate a clear understanding of values-based education from a Christian perspective.
* Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, or similar, from a regionally accredited institution.
* 3-5 years of engineering teaching experience.
* Familiarity with higher education, curriculum planning, best teaching and administrative practices; or a record of excellence in teaching.
* Understanding of the various methods of adult learning.
