Exceptional Student Services Instructional Assistant (2025/2026)
BASIS Phoenix is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Exceptional Student Services Instructional Assistant for the 2025/2026 school year.
Role Overview The ESS Instructional Assistant supports all aspects of Special Education, 504, and EL Programs at the school site. Responsibilities include maintaining communication with parents, peers, and supervisors regarding ESS matters, and providing paraprofessional support to individual students.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and work experience.Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or a satisfactory applicable state background check.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Qualifications
Passing score on applicable paraprofessional exam, CPI, or TACT-2.At least 1 year of related experience in a similar-sized school setting.Primary Responsibilities
Implement plans for students with special needs in various settings such as classrooms, halls, lunchrooms, and playgrounds.Provide one-on-one or paraprofessional support to students as needed.Assist the ESS Coordinator with implementing IEPs and 504 plans.Collaborate with the ESS Coordinator and teaching staff.Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of student records and progress.Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support ESS operations.Supervise students and reinforce instructional concepts.Offer instructional interventions and academic support to students or small groups.Other duties as assigned.Benefits and Compensation
