To provide instructional and behavioral support to students with extreme behavioral and emotional disabilities and all other special education teacher responsibilities.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEducating students directly through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments.
Job QualificationsThe appropriate certified candidate must possess Arizona Special Education certification, Cross Categorical or ED teaching certificate. SEI endorsement preferred.
Licensing/Certification RequirementsValid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
Employment Information2026-27 school year; 194 work days (216 day teacher calendar).
Start DateJuly 8, 2026 (New Teachers).

Future Requirement for K-5Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement).
Timeline- Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
