Special Education Teacher (Autism Support) - Vista Peak, AZ
Full-Time | In-Person | $45–$50/hr | Start ASAP – End of School Year
A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for an Autism-support classroom serving high school students (grades 9–12) for the remainder of the school year. This is an in-person opportunity within an alternative education environment, ideal for a strong educator confident working with behavioral needs.
About the RoleThe Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students with unique learning needs. Working under a Special Education Program Administrator, you will participate in team-based planning, implementation of IEP goals, and collaboration with general education staff and paraprofessionals.
Role Details- Setting: SPED – Autism
- Grade Levels: 9th–12th
- Caseload: 12 students or fewer
- Classroom Support:
Approx. 7 students with 2 paras - Schedule:
Full-time, in-person - Duration: ASAP – End of School Year
- Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour
- Provide individualized instruction aligned with IEPs
- Support classroom behavior plans
- Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers
- Track and communicate student progress
- Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
- Participate in planning, intervention strategies, and team meetings
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate (as required)
- One year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Preferred certifications:
Standard Elementary Teaching, Standard Secondary Teaching, Standard Special Teaching, LBS1 endorsement - CPR certification, TB/PPD or chest X-ray, and health certificate (as applicable)
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Must be at least 18 years old
