Khalsa Montessori School is a small, Montessori charter school located in downtown Phoenix that serves children from 1st to 6th grade. Khalsa Montessori School seeks individuals interested in working as an elementary after school assistant. This elementary after school assistant position is part time, Monday - Friday, 2:30 - 6:00 pm in the Khalsa Montessori Elementary Extended Care (EEC) program. Additional hours are available on School Breaks, Early Release & Teacher In Service days.

• Assist with safety protocols (cleaning) and monitor the classroom.
• Ensure appropriate follow-through of the EEC Coordinator's direction or students’ chosen behavior.
• Maintain educational materials and keep the class environment attractive for students.
• Prepare healthy snacks.
• Monitor children during classroom time and playground time.
• Engage with the students.

• Minimum of six months of experience with elementary aged children.
• Maturity, reliability, high integrity, open mindedness, flexibility, dedication to the well-being of children, willingness to be a team player, and a beginner’s mindset.
• Physical capabilities: able to stand for long periods, frequent bending, lift up to 50 lbs, ability to sit on the floor or child-sized furniture, ability to sprint short distances; exposure to viruses and bacteria expected.
• Reliable, trustworthy, physically healthy, non-smoking; able to lift 50 lbs; able to move down to the floor to speak with students.
• Valid IVP AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card and negative TB certification within the last 12 months.

• Required
  
  Education:
  
  High school or equivalent. College degree a plus.
• Required experience:
  
  Childcare or experience working with children.
• Classroom Management: 1 year.
• Required license or certification:
  Valid IVP AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR and First Aid certification, and a negative TB Test.
