The Assistant School Director at Young Hearts Preschool will assist the School Director to oversee all operational aspects of the preschool. In the absence of the School Director, the Assistant School Director will be responsible for all business, educational, and customer service functions.
Duties & Responsibilities- Promote the program through provided marketing strategies.
- Enroll and maintain full classrooms year-round.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with teachers, students, parents, and academy administration.
- Hire, train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct reports.
- Follow quality assurance measures to maintain excellence of program offerings, operations, and state licensure.
- Work to achieve and maintain NAEYC accreditation.
- Maintain regular communications to customers, direct reports, academy administration, and Executive Director of Co-Curriculars.
- Escalate incident reports to the school director.
- Partner to maintain a safe environment.
- Adhere to Great Hearts/Young Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
- Attend meetings at Lead Office and other business locations.
- Substitute in classroom if needed.
- Support the School Director with special projects.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Education:
CDA, Associates Degree or higher preferred.
Experience:
2-5 years’ experience working in a licensed preschool program.
- Exemplifies heart of service to others.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Models mission and vision of Great Hearts and Young Hearts.
- Illustrates sound business judgement and strategic thinking including, but not limited to data analysis.
- Provides leadership in formulating and managing major projects or initiatives.
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build positive and strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Achievement-oriented, willingness to work hard and take satisfaction from being productive.
- Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot with little direction.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills.
- Must be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must have a negative TB test.
- Must meet the qualifications of Facility Director Designee in accordance with the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
- Will be required to obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 40 pounds approximately.
Travel RequiredMay need to travel locally to the Lead Office or other Great Hearts locations in Arizona.
