Aircraft Mechanic Instructor
Join the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) as an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor. AIM, founded in 1969, has 15 campuses nationwide and trains a significant portion of American aircraft technicians.
Position PurposeThe instructor delivers engaging instruction in aircraft maintenance courses, ensuring students grasp theoretical concepts and practical applications. Responsibilities include curriculum development, record‑keeping, student assessment, and collaboration with faculty to enhance the program.
Key Duties- Teach aircraft maintenance principles and create engaging coursework aligned with industry standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and provides individualized support.
- Manage administrative tasks: maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with regulations, and support curriculum refinement.
- Deliver scheduled classes and maintain a welcoming learning environment.
- Collaborate with program leadership to develop curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule sessions.
- Maintain clean, organized, safe classroom and lab spaces, ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Record academic and attendance data, submit required documentation per institutional procedures.
- Identify and report concerns to supervisors; implement retention strategies.
- Complete performance‑based modules, participate in classroom observations, respond to student feedback.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and mandatory gatherings.
- Assist with inventory management and submit replenishment requests.
- Monitor attendance and report absences to address retention issues.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisor.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate.
- Minimum three (3) years of hands‑on aircraft maintenance experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong knowledge of theoretical and practical aircraft maintenance; commitment to professional development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, compliance‑oriented educational setting.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, highly organized; multitasking under pressure.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, professionalism in all interactions.
- Effective verbal and written communication; customer‑service emphasis.
- Highly motivated, goal‑oriented; strong problem‑solving skills.
- Independent and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Excellent computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
- Flexible availability beyond scheduled hours when needed.
- Associate’s degree in related field.
- Experience with Campus Nexus.
- Applicants will be considered for the following schedules:
- Option 1:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm;
Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm - Option 2:
Monday – Thursday: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm;
Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
This position pays up to $35 per hour
, based on experience and qualifications.
