After-School Literacy Program Coach
Employment: Part-time
Pay: $18-21/hour
Reports To: Program Coordinator
Work Hours: 5-10 hours per week during the school year

Summary: The Program Coach delivers the Read Better Be Better after-school literacy program, facilitating a program of up to 32 students. The Coach may also facilitate the RBBB K-1 program and/or the RBBB 2-3 program, working with Kindergarten/1st-grade Readers and 2nd/3rd-grade Readers and their Leaders.
Essential Functions &
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend RBBB Orientation and Program Coach Training(s) before placement.
- Ensure RBBB program materials are prepared, in good repair, and ready for student arrival.
- Take class attendance.
- Facilitate Read Better Be Better activities in the curriculum for each program session.
- Encourage student participation to enhance student experience.
- Follow all RBBB procedures and program structure.
- Wrap up each program session and dismiss students following school procedures.
- Return the site to order and carefully store all program materials for the next use.
- Train and monitor student Leaders as necessary.
- Maintain general communication with certified school staff to optimize student experience and performance.
- Effectively communicate program successes and challenges to Program Coordinator.
- Attend weekly offsite Coach meetings.
- Attend all mandatory team meetings at RBBB headquarters each semester.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Ability to conduct yourself in accordance with RBBB's vision, mission, and values.
- Must enjoy interacting with children.
- Ability to motivate and direct groups of up to 32 students.
- Ability to manage two different age groups.
- Outgoing personality to engage young learners.
- Work independently without direct supervision.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor and exercise good judgment.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with students, school staff, and RBBB team members.
- Good attendance record and punctuality.
Required
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Basic computer/technology skills including email and applications used for communication, program attendance and payroll.
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred
Education & Experience:
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., teaching, educational studies, youth & early childhood development, social justice, social work).
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting.
Work Environment: Elementary school library or classroom setting.
Physical Demands: Moving around a school and classroom setting; transporting a 60‑pound wagon of books and program materials.
Travel: To assigned school sites and RBBB main office for meetings; professional development.
