• Provides simultaneous sign language interpretation during the educational day in small group or individual settings.
• Adapts classroom activities, assignments, and materials under teacher direction to support classroom objectives.
• Provides instruction to students (e.g., math, science, reading, behavioral skills, daily living skills, writing, verbal skills, job skills) to implement IEP goals.
• Communicates with teachers and professionals (speech therapist, PT, OT) to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Documents student’s daily activities (behavior, assignments, task times) in daily logs.
• Evaluates situations involving staff, students, parents, and the public to take action or provide referrals.
• Implements behavioral plans under teacher supervision for students with behavior issues.
• Maintains manual and electronic files and records for required references.
• Models appropriate conversational, cultural, and social behaviors for the student.
• Ensures student safety, removes student when necessary, and de‑escalates situations.
• Responds to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns.

• Skills:
  
  Operate standard office equipment, use software applications, prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge:
  Basic math (algebra/geometry), read manuals, write documents, understand multi‑step instructions, work with high‑risk youth, grammar, instruction methods.
• Abilities:
  Interpret at normal conversational rate in ASL and Straight‑English, flexible, work with diverse individuals, handle data, analyze issues, create action plans, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines.
• Experience:
  
  Job‑related experience in a specialized field required.
• Education:
  
  Community college or vocational degree related to job area; QAS rating Level 3, RID Certification.
• Certifications & Licenses:
  Online Driver Training Certification, Driver’s License, Proof of Insurability, Valid Arizona DHS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Other Requirements: MMR vaccination, Pre‑Employment Proficiency Test, Criminal Background Clearance, FLSA Non‑Exempt status.

• Physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; 50% sitting, 25% walking, 25% standing; clean and healthy environment.
