The Division of Hematology/Oncology and BMT at Phoenix Children’s seeks a full time, board eligible/certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist to join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Section. The candidate will have a specific interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies and an interest in designing and conducting early phase clinical trials. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Phoenix Children’s, as well as teaching and participation in clinical and translational research.
The CCBD sees an average of 400 new oncology patients per year, including over 140 with hematologic malignancies. The Center offers active clinical and research programs in solid tumor, neuro-oncology, hematology, BMT/Cell Therapy, palliative medicine, and survivorship, and participates in national and international trial consortia such as COG, POETIC, TACL, the Histiocyte Society, and NACHO. It offers Phase I and II industry-sponsored studies and investigator-initiated trials.
Our ACGME-approved fellowship program allows three fellows per year and collaborates with academic partners including the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Creighton University, and the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Candidates should have a strong interest in mentoring learners, program development, be academically productive, and be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, subspecialty Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.
The BMT program offers a one-year subspecialty fellowship in bone marrow transplantation/cellular therapy. Phoenix Children’s houses a dedicated wing with 16 HEPA-filtered, positive pressure rooms for immune-deficient patients, and is a comprehensive tertiary and qua ternary care center serving as a primary teaching facility for learners from the University of Arizona, Mayo Clinic Arizona, and Creighton University, with residency and fellowship programs in multiple specialties.

Position Duties- Patient Care Services
- Provide direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
- Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
- Provide services for urgent/emergent care as necessary.
