Overview
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Support for questions/assistance - Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 Federal holidays, and possible 5-day CME absence)
- Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions

- The Chief of the Chronic Pain Wellness Program (CCPWP) serves as a practicing physician responsible for the management of patients with high impact complex chronic pain and related comorbidities enrolled for healthcare services provided by the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PHVAHCS).
- The CCPWP focuses on biopsychosocial factors impacting pain with non-interventional management in a tertiary step model of care. Patients have undergone first and second line treatments with refractory results and require highly coordinated care.
- The CCPWP is responsible for administrative tasks associated with clinic operations.
- The physician will work in a team setting with physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, clinical pharmacists, physical therapists, nutritionists, registered nurses, recreational therapists, health coaches, chiropractors, acupuncturists and support staff.
- Pain Care:
Approximately 50-70% of time - Administrative: 20-30% of time
- Resident/Medical Student Teaching: 0-20% of time
