Forensic Pathologist
Location: US-GA-Atlanta
We are currently seeking a Forensic Pathologist – ABMS board-certified physician. Experience in trauma and disease processes is preferred. This individual will be a part of the Biomechanics Practice and will often work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role involves collaboration with scientists and engineers to provide detailed medical expert analysis and conclusions.
Responsibilities- Rendering medical expert opinions, including injury causation analyses and evaluation of pathological natural disease processes
- Evaluating complex events involving high severity and potential demise
- Reviewing antemortem and postmortem information (autopsy findings, medical records, radiology, photographs, laboratory tests, investigative reports)
- Communicating medical findings and opinions to technical experts, attorneys, and lay stakeholders
- Preparing detailed expert State and Federal reports and opinion disclosures as required
- Participating in teleconferences with stakeholders and verbally communicating findings to non-medical individuals
- Testifying as an expert medical witness in civil, state, and federal court proceedings
- Maintaining continuing AMA Category 1 medical education credits
- Working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment as a team member
- Adhering to required internal quality assurance practices regarding project engagements and work products
- Graduation from a US LCME accredited medical school with an MD or DO, or completed USMLE process
- Currently and actively acknowledged as ABMS board‑certified
- Preference for ABMS qualifications in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology, Emergency Medicine, or a trauma‑related specialty
- Current, active, unrestricted US state medical license
- Knowledge base commensurate with the position responsibilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective leadership skills and ability to interact with engineers, scientists, technical managers, external clients, and administrative staff
- Familiarity with medicolegal subject matter including wrongful death and negligence is desirable
- Medicolegal awareness involving pain and suffering is desirable
- History of professional role‑related testifying in trial and depositions is desirable
- Open to full‑ or part‑time consideration

CompensationBase salary range is dependent on experience and capabilities and will be assessed during the interview process. Total compensation for managers and above includes base salary, annual bonus, and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
