Our client,
BWS Architects
, is adding a Project Architect to their Phoenix team to play a key role in their growing portfolio of First Responder, Fire Station, and Essential Facilities projects. This Project Architect will be engaged in public safety, civic, and essential facilities projects from start to finish, contributing to all phases of the work.
- A registered Architect experienced in Public Safety and First Responder Facilities.
- A creative problem solver who can lead through collaboration and align teams through strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- Driven to deliver life‑saving facilities that serve Arizona communities and showcase innovation and sustainability.
- Competitive salary range $90K – $115K based on experience and credentialing.

- Registered Architect with a minimum of 5 years of architectural experience that includes public safety and essential facilities project leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s in architecture, or equivalent degree.
- Project Architect who can work autonomously on document production and take the lead as needed with clients, design team members, and willing to wear multiple hats and participate in the business, hold multiple projects accountable to milestones and production timelines.
- Proven track record managing complex public‑sector projects, preferably including fire stations, coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams and stakeholders, and meeting multiple project milestones and production timelines.
- Deep understanding of AZ Fire Code, NFPA standards, International Fire Code (IFC), International Building Code (IBC).
- Awareness of IGCC/IECC and resilience codes related to climate, energy, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with AZ Department of Forestry & Fire Management permitting.
- Experience with Revit in a professional environment is required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, rendering programs, and MS Office.
