Job Captain – Grocery & Markets Studio

We’re looking for a technically skilled, detail-oriented Job Captain to join our growing Grocery & Markets Studio
. You’ll play a vital role in delivering beautiful, functional, and community-centered retail environments across the Southwest.

This is more than a drafting role—it's an opportunity to take ownership of the project documentation process, collaborate with talented design teams, and bring best-in-class retail spaces to life.

• Lead the development of Contract Documents for grocery and market projects.
• Navigate the permitting and AHJ approval process with confidence.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, consultants, and internal teams to bring design intent to reality.
• Contribute to adaptive reuse and new construction documentation.
• Maintain high standards for accuracy, detailing, and code compliance.

• A degree in architecture (preferred).
• 5+ years of professional experience, ideally with grocery, retail, restaurant, or healthcare projects.
• High proficiency in Revit (non-negotiable—you’ll be hands-on).
• Strong understanding of building codes
  , architectural detailing, and the permit process.
• Familiarity with construction contract administration.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (both verbal and written).
• A proactive mindset and collaborative attitude.

This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ
, with occasional in-office collaboration in Long Beach, CA and field trips to Southern California building departments for permitting.
