We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Dentist to serve as an Independent Contractor providing clinical expertise and utilization review services. This remote role is ideal for a seasoned dentist who is interested in contributing to quality assurance and clinical decision‑making while maintaining a flexible schedule. The selected candidate will review dental treatment requests and claims to ensure that services provided to members meet clinical standards, medical necessity criteria, and evidence‑based dental practices.

• Remote position
• Approximately 8–16 hours per week
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week for 3–4 weeks annually during peak review periods
• Provide clinical guidance on the appropriateness and medical necessity of dental services for members.
• Review dental preauthorization requests and supporting documentation.
• Conduct claims adjudication and utilization review to ensure compliance with clinical standards.
• Evaluate appeals and disputed claims from providers or members.
• Document clinical determinations accurately and collaborate with internal teams to support quality and member care outcomes.

This role offers a flexible opportunity for an experienced dentist to apply their clinical expertise in a non-clinical setting while supporting high-quality, evidence-based dental care for members across the network.

• DMD or DDS degree from an accredited School of Dentistry
• 5–10 years of clinical dentistry experience
• Active, unrestricted dental license in Arizona
• Active malpractice insurance coverage
• Must reside in Arizona
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to interpret dental records, radiographs, and treatment plans
• Prior experience with dental utilization review, claims review, or insurance processes is preferred

• Pediatric dentistry experience strongly preferred
• Clinical experience treating children using nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia
• Familiarity with dental preauthorization and claims review processes
