Job Title:

Orthodontic Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as bonding, debonding, wire changes, and adjustments
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout appointments
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
• Take and process dental X-rays, photographs, and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions
• Manage and update patient records accurately
• Set up and break down treatment rooms before and after procedures
• Monitor orthodontic supplies and assist with inventory management
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
• Provide friendly, professional patient interaction, especially with children and teens

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Certification or training as a Dental/Orthodontic Assistant (preferred)
• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, appliances, and procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with children and adolescents
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required depending on regulations)

Work Environment

• Dental/orthodontic clinic
• Prolonged standing and chairside assisting
• Use of dental instruments and equipment

Salary Description

$18.00-$25.00/hr
