The Estimator plays a vital and high‑impact role within our restoration team. This position is responsible for developing accurate, timely, and detailed mitigation estimates using Xactimate in alignment with industry guidelines and recognized standards. As a core contributor to project success, the Estimator ensures that every loss is assessed with precision, professionalism, and a deep understanding of restoration principles.
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of commercial and insurance restoration. A foundational knowledge of construction—including building materials, structural components, and materials commonly affected by water or other property damage—significantly enhances performance in this position.
Xactimate proficiency is mandatory. Candidates without demonstrated experience in this estimating platform will not be considered. As part of our evaluation process, applicants must be prepared to verify their knowledge and capabilities within the software.
Duties & Responsibilities- Bring prior mitigation estimating experience within the restoration industry
- Conduct thorough job inspections and collaborate closely with field leadership to confirm scope details
- Capture clear, comprehensive, and descriptive job photos and upload documentation into the designated systems
- Create accurate and detailed mitigation estimates using Xactimate and applicable estimating tools
- Record and communicate all key conversations, findings, and updates through required software notes
- Prepare estimates that align with carrier expectations and audit standards, adjusting as needed based on feedback
- Work closely with field teams to ensure all required documentation—including photos, notes, and customer authorizations—is complete
- Maintain accurate digital drying records using approved mobile platforms
- Calculate labor, equipment, and material costs with precision
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate materials pricing
- Communicate professionally and promptly with insurance partners, adjusters, and internal teams
- Maintain organized estimate files and identify potential risks within project scopes
- Collaborate with construction and project management teams to review estimate details
- Address estimate exceptions, revisions, and supplemental needs in a timely and professional manner
