The Project Manager plans, directs and coordinates all activities of designated projects from inception to completion. This role delivers a quality product, controls project costs, and meets scheduling deadlines to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.
ADOT Highway Project Experience PreferredEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in line with Sunland’s core values.
- Review project estimates, proposals, specifications and plans; develop, implement and manage schedule, budget, staffing and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate project schedule, expectations and goals with production team, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers and required governmental agencies before work begins.
- Obtain any necessary permits and licenses.
- Participate and/or lead pre‑construction meetings, including those with project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with superintendent, foreman and project consultant to determine production schedule.
- Establish the work plan with superintendent and foreman for each project phase.
- Track progress and modify schedules, plans or processes to meet project goals.
- Enforce safety regulations and proper job‑site management.ids
- Oversee the of the project; work with consultant, superintendent and foreman to record, assess and ensure the project remains within budget and is profitable.
- Partner with estimating team to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to production.
- Participate in bid reviews.
- Prepare project reports for management and customers regarding job costs and schedule.
- Provide technical advice to resolve project problems.
- Oversee project quality control to ensure completion per specifications and to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Motivate, mentor and develop direct reports.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- Will be willing to travel to all job sites without exception, including extended stays away from home if necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent; plus 5 years of highway asphalt paving or related field experience.
- Excellent computer skills; ability to use project management software.
- Strong mathematical skills for complex computations for layout design and material requirements.
- Broad understanding of project management, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation,niit contract~admini.
- Minimum of four (4) years related experience.
- Previous heavy‑construction or asphalt industry experience.
- Critical thinker who anticipates problems and is solution oriented.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Must meet FMCSA English proficiency requirements under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2);…
