As a Project Safety Manager
, you will work in the Advanced Technology market sector (semiconductor manufacturing). The role is responsible for applying construction safety standards and regulations, ensuring that all work is completed safely to avoid injury or harm.
- Support incident prevention by inspecting job sites, equipment, providing onsite training, investigating, and authoring incident reports.
- Serve as the on‑site Competent Person, performing frequent inspections of the job site, materials, and equipment.
- Oversee additional safety professionals assigned to the project.
- Survey the job site and provide advice and guidance to site superintendents and employees on confined spaces, hazardous energy control, fall protection, and scaffolding.
- Investigate all incidents to determine origin, root cause, and contributing factors and assist in preparing written evaluation reports.
- Carry out safety education activities, promote awareness and conduct daily and weekly toolbox talks; provide site‑specific training courses.
- Consult with technical specialists and program managers on changes in work processes to eliminate risks and control hazardous conditions.
- Provide training to employees and managers to recognize hazards and perform jobs safely and effectively.
- Develop job hazard analyses for all new major work processes or those with the highest injury/illness rates.
- Conduct PPE assessments as needed.
- Recommend measures to correct safety deficiencies and investigate hazardous conditions, practices, equipment, etc., to identify and analyze hazards and possible remedial actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Professional knowledge of fall protection systems, electrical safety, permit‑required confined spaces, excavation trenching and shoring, scaffolding, hazard communication, accident investigation, and reporting.
- 10+ years of experience in construction safety.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification.
- Extensive knowledge of state/local and OSHA laws and regulations.
- May be required to pass a security clearance investigation and substance testing.
- OSHA 510 certifications.
- Additional safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry.
