AboutThis Opportunity
The Piping Superintendent will oversee all piping-related activities on construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate teams and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Your Day-To-DaySet Quantitative Daily Goals
- Establish measurable goals for each crew (LF, welds, supports, spools, hydro steps).
- Communicate goals to leadership and foreman in writing every morning.
- Confirm foremen understand scope, access requirements, materials, and safety needs.
Maintain & Update the 3-Week Look-Ahead
- Update or ensure the schedule is updated daily based on progress, materials, constraints, and coordination.
- Ensure the field personnel are aware of schedule and planning of work activities appropriately.
Daily Progress, Quantities & Timesheets
- Submit accurate production quantities daily to PE for uploading into dashboard.
- Review timesheets and document deviations from plan.
Material Readiness (3-Day Minimum)
- Verify all materials/tools/equipment are onsite 3 days before needed.
- Notify procurement/PE immediately of shortages. Any shortages that are going to affect plan, notify PM/Leadership.
Hold Foremen Accountable
- Compare progress vs. goals daily. Document Variances.
- Correct course same day when needed.
Constraint & Delay Documentation
- Record all constraints the day they occur.
- Include description, responsible party, impact, and mitigation.
- Delay hours must be explicitly called out:
- Logged as separate line items.
- Not buried under normal cost codes.
- Include crew size affected, duration, and detailed cause.
- Explain what work was stopped and why.
Field Leadership
- Review PTP/JHA and initial.
- Walk job at least twice daily or more if required.
- Verify access, tools, materials, and quality.
- Review full schedule with stakeholders.
- Participate in constraint review meetings.
- Validate production forecasts.
- Planning ahead for future activities such as testing, flushing, and hydro.
Daily goals log, daily report, timesheets, 3-week look-ahead, constraint log, delay documentation, material readiness, weekly forecasting, weekly safety observations.
Qualifications- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in piping installation and supervision within commercial or industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Experience working in clean room environment.
- Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
