Position: Inventory Specialist 2 (Phoenix, AZ)

The Inventory Specialist function is a critical component of Smith+Nebhew’s overall US Supply Chain strategy. As an Inventory Specialist you are responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of products as they flow through the territory, ensuring proper billings, managing case coverage, and analyzing data.

What will you be doing?
  • Pick, pack, and maintain inventory accuracy for Finished Goods, sourcing cases and over communicating with sales reps.
  • Manage inventory levels across the sales district and ensure the right quantities are in the right place.
  • Handle all product recall activity and coordinate with Quality and Regulatory to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain valid consignment agreements, perform field cycle counts, and participate in territory physical inventories.
  • Perform field checks to verify consigned inventory instruments and implants, and address variances with sales representatives and management.
  • Validate IAP semi-annually and maintain accurate IAP records.
  • Analyze inventory asset levels to maximize utilization and recommend strategies to improve sales performance.
  • Partner with sales management, sales force, and logistics management to ensure excellent sales support.
  • Prepare period, quarterly and annual product reporting to guide set and inventory deployments.
  • Analyze and report on P&L related territory operations (e.g., Stock Withdrawal budget, freight usage).
  • Process all required order entry to maintain and manage scheduled surgery cases daily.
  • Review MOVE system with Field Logistics Specialist to ensure sales product support for surgeries and maximize kit utilization.
  • Provide on‑call support as required.
  • Understand and perform functions related to efficient warehousing operations.
  • Review freight activity (Fed Ex, courier) to ensure correct costing and economical delivery methods.
  • Learn and utilize software systems such as MOVE Medical and SAP daily.
  • Train and direct other personnel in their clerical and physical duties.
What will you need to be successful? Education
  • High school Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2+ years’ experience in Operations, Logistics, Business Analysis, or Business Consulting.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling for long periods.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean record.
