SummaryThe Business Analyst I / II Resource Management participates in a variety of data analysis and modeling functions including identification of resource needs and selections, evaluating wholesale markets, planning and assisting with system operations, assessing other business or operational plans or items utilizing advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques, and regulatory support. Develop resource plan alternatives based on market trends and conditions, wholesale market changes or other analytical findings critical to the business.
Performs work functions under general supervision. Responsibilities include analysis of wholesale markets, system operations, or other business or operational plans or items utilizing advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques. Assists others in development and evaluation of resource plans, market changes or other analysis that requires input from other Departments.
Business Analyst I Resource Management
- BS/BA Degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, information technology, mathematics, physics or similar quantitative field
- Plus two (2) years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, and electric-utility experience.
- Basic knowledge of economic principles associated with power plant dispatch and be detail oriented.
- Strong research and effective communication skills are necessary.
- Effective word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential.
- Time constraints, scope and complexity are commensurate with the beginning level.
Business Analyst II Resource Management
- BS/BA Degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, information technology, mathematics, physics or similar quantitative field
- Plus four (4) years related business analytics experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with demonstrated comparable knowledge and abilities.
- Must have good communication, presentation and writing skills.
- Knowledge of principles of economic unit commitment/dispatch, wholesale market operations and the functional and economic characteristics of Company power resources and the interconnected system is desired.
- Basic knowledge of natural gas markets including contracts, and utilization within a power plant.
- Proficient computer skills including a thorough knowledge of a commonly used industry programming language to modify large data sets and extensive experience in the applied use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Access, and Word is desired.
