The Director of Sales is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for all residential HVAC sales operations. This role oversees and develops a high‑performing team of approximately 30 sales professionals, driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and ensuring the consistent achievement of performance goals. The Director will champion operational excellence, deliver strong customer experiences, and maintain alignment with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive year‑over‑year revenue growth within the residential HVAC market.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to guide strategic decision‑making.
- Identify new opportunities to expand market share and strengthen the organization’s competitive position.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 30+ sales representatives (e.g., Comfort Advisors, Account Managers).
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development to build a highly capable and engaged sales force.
- Establish clear KPIs, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement coaching strategies to improve skill sets and close rates.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results‑driven performance.
- Meet or exceed sales targets, margin objectives, and overall business goals.
- Ensure consistent execution of standardized sales processes, policies, and SOPs.
- Track and analyze sales metrics, generate accurate forecasts, and prepare reports for executive stakeholders.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by promoting excellence throughout the sales cycle.
- Oversee proposal creation, bid submission, and contract negotiation to ensure competitive pricing and profitable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and other internal teams to support seamless project delivery and enhance brand visibility and lead generation.
- Maintain strong knowledge of residential HVAC products, systems, services, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a subject‑matter resource for the sales team and contribute to product positioning, training, and competitive strategy.
