Procurement Specialist – Patterson Companies, Inc.
The Branch Procurement Specialist supports project planning and management for all equipment orders, coordinating with Sales and Service departments to ensure a seamless equipment life‑cycle. This role requires a team player dedicated to equipment procurement and installation.
Essential Functions- Manages equipment life‑cycle: sales quotation, order, receiving, invoicing, returns, job scheduling, staging, inspection, and inventory management.
- Monitors gross margin for equipment sales.
- Collaborates with Tech Edge Service Coordinators on resource and project planning.
- Coordinates installation with Service Department, Equipment Specialists, Territory Salespersons, and customers.
- Verifies orders, stages equipment for delivery, and tags items appropriately upon receipt.
- Procures equipment orders while maintaining optimal inventory and determining ideal source and timing.
- Manages invoices, prepares purchase orders, maintains equipment files, processes credits and returns, creates finance documents, and files UCCs on selected equipment.
- Handles warehouse management: preparation, counting, maintenance, and reconciliation of inventory using necessary systems and tools.
- Accounts for returns as branch inventory or vendor return.
- Works with external lenders to confirm finance approvals and payment collection.
- Researches price discrepancies between purchase order cost and vendor invoice.
- Demonstrates professionalism and values in all conduct.
- Communicates professionally with customers and vendors and follows up when required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or above with general business or accounting concentration preferred, or at least 2 years of equivalent experience.
- Proven soft skills: organization, attention to detail, analytics, problem solving, collaboration.
- Demonstrated success in prioritizing and time‑management.
- Established decision‑making abilities and sound judgement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Initiative to learn and improve skillsets within the branch team environment.
- Efficient use of technology.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in the dental industry.
- Project management and/or accounting experience.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, SAP CRM, and ECC platforms.
- Passion for continuous learning and improvement.
- Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday.
- May occasionally move packages up to 10 pounds.
- Must communicate in person, over the phone and in writing.
- Must read, interpret, and exchange accurate information with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
This position is in an office environment with desks, chairs, computers, and other office equipment for professional services. No travel required.
