Vaco is partnering with a growing client in the Phoenix area that is seeking an onsite, experienced Accounts Payable Manager. You will be responsible for developing scalable processes, leading a high-performing team, and serving as a critical liaison in maintaining strong, trusted relationships with our carriers, vendors, and partners. This is a permanent placement role, with annual compensation paying $70,000 to $80,000.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable function in a high-volume, demanding environment.
• Review, code, and process invoices with a focus on accuracy and ensuring timely payments to carriers and vendors.
• Execute weekly payment runs and daily disbursements with diligence and efficiency.
• Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and vendor aging reports; deliver clear, data-driven reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally.
• Develop, document, and implement best practices to create scalable and streamlined AP processes.
• Address and resolve escalated vendor and carrier inquiries, maintaining strong and positive relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and support the professional development of AP team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure vendor records are accurately maintained across multiple systems and workflows.
• Contribute to cross-functional finance initiatives and assist with special projects as required.

Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes and fundamental accounting principles
• Proven experience managing high-volume AP operations in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and creating documentation to support scalable growth.
• Effective leadership abilities with a commitment to developing and empowering high-performing teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
