Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is seeking a Business Analyst to support our Perioperative Services units. This full-time, onsite position reports directly to the Director of Perioperative Services Operations and is located at our Thomas Campus.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM‑4 PM or 8:30 AM‑5 PM.
- Minimum of 4 years of finance experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proven ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
- Partnering with leaders and surgeons to track costs, productivity, and outcomes
- Reviewing contracts, capital costs, and supporting the annual budget process
- Collaborating with Supply Chain and Purchasing
- Expanding responsibilities as proficiency grows

The Business Analyst provides operational, strategic, and financial support for Perioperative Services. The Analyst is responsible for data and analytic retrieval for all Perioperative locations, including Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and future expansions. Additionally, this role develops and implements cost reduction strategies to meet Phoenix Children’s fiscal targets. Strong communication skills are required to work with physicians, colleagues, and those contacts outside the Perioperative Department.
Computer and data analysis skills are critical, for developing reports to support data‑based strategic planning. This position directly supports and reports to the Director, Business Ops‑Surg/Periop.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field. (Required)
- One (1) year of experience in budget development and fiscal management. (Required)
- Two (2) or more years of related experience in a health care setting. (Preferred)
- Experience in a perioperative setting. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of information systems and the ability to apply them to the health care environment, i.e. Excel (expert level required), Microsoft word, Teams, Perioperative Services software, fiscal software, etc. (Required)
- Ability to create succinct and meaningful reports for varied audiences. (Required)
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate positive customer relations. (Required)
