As the Air Quality Communications Systems Analyst, you will serve as a valuable resource and a critical member of a large and diverse team committed to improving and protecting Maricopa County's air quality. The position focuses on providing professional-level research, analysis, and implementation of technology enhancements within the division in coordination with other county departments and vendors. In this role, you will utilize a variety of skills and technology to provide the vital link between the production of air quality data and its dissemination to our internal and external customers.
Your work will contribute to the department's mission of improving the air of Maricopa County so customers, residents, and visitors can live, work, and play in a healthy environment.

- Two years of professional analytical experience, which includes working with database systems, including data acquisition, evaluation, and system analysis
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, communications, computer science, natural sciences, or a relevant field
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Two years of experience in air quality or air monitoring
- Experience setting up data communication equipment (i.e., routers, modems, Modbus communication)
- Experience in maintaining a cloud-based server using Microsoft SQL Server
- Advanced skills and experience using computer applications, including database management, data acquisition, and word processing software such as Microsoft Excel to develop reports, charts, and analyses of data
- Experience working with federal air monitoring rules, regulations, and policies
- Experience working with state, local, and federal agencies
- Update and maintain the division's communication technologies, including communication with instruments, databases, websites, and outreach kiosks
- Create and update documentation relating to the division's maintenance of the Air Vision Database, IMPACT Database, and outreach kiosks
- Research, develop, and recommend improvements of all division technology resource needs
- Research, document, and monitor procedural and workflow plans
- Operate a vehicle to install, maintain, or repair modems, kiosks, and computers
- Prepare technical reports and project summaries for distribution to stakeholders
- The work will occur in an office and field environment for this role
