Parts Expeditor – $4,000 Hiring Incentive

Salary: $37,955 – $47,955 (anticipated $42,955.61).
Posting Details: Grade 16, Closing Date 1/15/2026. Eligible for a $4,000 hiring incentive.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm. Uniforms provided to shop employees at no charge; eligible for safety-toe shoe reimbursement (100 % of cost up to $250.00 every other calendar year).

Job SummaryThis position performs a variety of heavy/light vehicle and equipment parts/supplies acquisitions and supply warehouse activities in accordance with State Procurement Laws, ADOT, and EQS Policies/Procedures.
Job Duties- Ordering/purchasing of parts and supplies; maintaining purchase‑card logs and receipts.
- Performing parts/supplies stock inventories and reconciliations per EQS policies or as directed by supervisor or management.
- Providing customer service support in person, by phone or e‑mail.
- Filling parts/supplies stock orders and replenishing warehouse shelves with line items.
- Assisting in obtaining, tracking, and posting chemical Material Safety Data Sheets as warranted.
- Managing timely turn‑in of parts cores.
- Shipping or mailing parts/supplies as needed or directed.
- Posting (inputting) parts/supplies cost data into Fleet Focus.
- Parts research procedures, including use of manufacturers' and vendors' catalogs, cross‑reference guides, and related parts resources.
- Makes/models and parts information for vehicles and heavy equipment.
- State procurement laws, rules, and procedures.
- Vendors for purchases of hard‑to‑find, unusual, or highly specialized parts and supplies.
- Record‑keeping and inventory control procedures/practices and parts warehousing and safety procedures.
- Computer programs such as MS Office and Google Workspace, and applications to post and track parts, inventory, and budgets.
- Determining the information needed from a technician or part to find a replacement part.
- Checking incoming parts/supplies against invoices, packing slips, and related documents.
- Maintaining inventory control records.
- Operating computer programs to create spreadsheets, documents, and reports.
- Using math to determine amounts of materials, outside diameters (ODs), inside diameters (IDs), and specific measurements to procure parts and supplies.
- Communicating to acquire correct parts.
- Providing customer service and understanding the customer's needs.
- Complete paperwork legibly and enter data into the computer accurately.
- Operate a vehicle to pick up parts and supplies when necessary; operate a forklift.
- Organize, multi‑task, follow up, and follow direction.
- Push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds and pass a physical exam.
Three years of experience in an automotive/heavy equipment parts supply operation involving responsibility for receiving, stocking, and issuing a wide variety of parts/supplies. At least two of those years must have included some responsibility for researching and ordering parts/supplies.
Pre‑Employment RequirementsMust possess a current, valid, class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and pass all necessary driver‑license record checks. Employees who drive on state business must maintain acceptable driving records and statutory liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2‑10‑207.11). All newly hired state employees must complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
