Personal Financial Counselor - Luke AFB

Magellan Federal is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The role will include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families.

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival, pre‑ or post‑deployment, career events, etc.).
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication modes such as web‑based, secure online chat and video‑based communications when authorized by the OSD FINRED Program Office.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues at the installations.
• Participate in regular in‑services and training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered.

Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.

Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.

Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.

Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

Must hold one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
