Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College is seeking an Administrative Specialist Senior who will provide advanced administrative office support and program coordination activities for the Behavioral Sciences Division. This in‑person position requires an on‑campus presence.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills to support students, faculty, and community members, experience working with a diverse population, and the ability to solve problems independently or direct requests to appropriate resources. Proficiency with Google Workspace and a willingness to learn other internal systems is required.

Essential Functions

• 40% Administrative support: compose documents, maintain financial and academic records/files, master calendar, office reception, phone system, student registration, event planning and implementation, coordination of services, research assistance, statistical data maintenance, supplies ordering, purchase orders, expenditure tracking, and budget support.

• 30% Faculty support: access class rosters, deliver supplies, make copies, provide computer and copier support, maintain confidential personnel and payroll records, ensure faculty certification currency, assist with orientation, develop promotional materials.

• 20% Visitor services: greet visitors, respond to inquiries, record and distribute minutes, assist students with enrollment issues, manage federal work‑study students.

• 10% Other duties commensurate with grade level.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of administrative office support or related experience. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of degree and full‑time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.

Desired Qualifications
  • Two or more years' experience in an advanced administrative position.
  • Office experience in a higher education or public institution.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
  • At least one year of experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Suite.
  • At least one year of experience as a lead worker or overseeing a program.
  • Special Working Conditions
    • May require possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License or other state license; employee must meet district minimum driving standards.
    • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense.
    • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.
    • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations.
    • May require travel or work at the Black Mountain campus.
