Senior Accountant

Headfarmer is partnering with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed national distributor to find them a Senior Accountant to join its Phoenix headquarters. The company has quickly scaled to in revenue with 40+ locations nationwide and continues to grow organically and through acquisitions.

This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to modernize processes, improve systems, and help build scalable infrastructure in a fast-moving environment.

• Improve and fully implement an underutilized Avalara system

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Use Tax Leadership (Approx. 50% of role)

• Manage multi-state sales and use tax reporting across 35 states
• Optimize Avalara to automate filings
• Review, reconcile, and validate monthly tax returns
• Serve as internal subject matter expert for sales tax inquiries

General Accounting & Projects

• Support monthly close activities
• Assist with process modernization initiatives
• Contribute to acquisition integration efforts

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
