Hybrid (10% Onsite, 90% Remote) – Must be able to come onsite as needed to process mail - Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM - Employment Type:
6 Month-Contract
You will:
- Process incoming Arizona Forms 285 and 290, reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and process Power of Attorney (POA) or Penalty Abatement forms for entry into tax accounting systems.
- Organize and securely store forms and all related actions (paper, email, fax).
- Research and resolve POA and Prescreening issues; serve as point-of-contact for taxpayer inquiries.
- Assist with proper routing of emails in AZTaxhelp inbox and provide basic tier-1 customer care.
- Escalate complex inquiries to senior team members.
- Process mail as assigned.
- Apply statutes, laws, and procedures governing tax filing, penalty, and interest assessments.
- Perform mathematical calculations related to tax, penalty, and interest per department policies.
- Use analytical techniques for problem-solving in variable situations.
- Work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience; some college coursework in accounting or business preferred.
- Two years of professional experience in tax, accounting, or related field.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, especially Excel/Sheets and Gmail.
- 10-Key Experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand accounting and mathematical principles.
- Research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous customer service/call handling experience.
- Spanish speaking is a plus!
