SummaryThe Accounting Specialist involves processing a high volume of Purchase Order-related invoices and managing the process from beginning to end – reviewing invoices for completeness and accuracy, preparing the documents for import/scanning and validating/keying the invoices into the payables system. The position requires prior Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a high volume environment. Speed and accuracy in data entry are a must.
Effective verbal and written communications skills as well as problem solving skills are also important. People Soft/Oracle experience a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices as demonstrated through a minimum of 6 college semester hours in accounting or specific application of such knowledge for a minimum of 1 year
- OR a minimum of 2 years of specific experience in performing work requiring the researching, organizing, analyzing and reporting of data/information utilizing various computer/software applications/databases (i.e. Excel spreadsheets & graphs, databases
- Access, BAS).
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws').
