Part Time Accounting & AP Specialist

Vaco Phoenix has partnered with a growing organization who is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive accounting professional to manage accounts payable and support general accounting tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, evolving environment and is excited to contribute ideas to improve processes.

This is a part‑time role, 20–30 hours per week, based in Phoenix, paying up to $34 per hour.

• Manage full‑cycle accounts payable, including:
  • Receiving, reviewing, and coding invoices
  • Processing payments accurately and on time
  • Following up with vendors on discrepancies
  • Reconciling vendor accounts
• Support month‑end close activities, including:
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Basic journal entries and AP accruals
  • Other general accounting support as needed
• Collaborate with a small, growing team and help identify process improvements
• Maintain accuracy, organization, and efficiency in all accounting activities

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in accounts payable
• Proficient in Quick Books
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable asking questions, working independently, and handling some ambiguity
• Flexible and adaptable to a growing team environment

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
