DescriptionGFT Ready Mix is a rapidly growing, family-run business founded in 1999, built on a team-oriented culture and supportive atmosphere. We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of the accounting department for GFT Ready Mix. The Accounting Manager will supervise, mentor and develop accounting staff, improve internal processes, and ensure accurate financial management across multiple entities.

Some job duties include but are not limited to:
Financial Operations & Reporting- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and front desk admin.
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure timely account reconciliations
- Assist the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review internal financial reports as requested by the CFO
- Assist with material inventory accounting and reconciliation of usage variances
- Support fixed asset accounting for plants, batch systems, and fleet equipment
- Supervise high-volume customer billing
- Monitor AR aging and oversee collections efforts
- Review customer credit accounts and manage credit risk exposure
- Ensure compliance with lien laws, waivers, and contract billing requirements
- Oversee vendor payments and material purchase reconciliations
- Monitor fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses
- Oversee monthly credit card reconciliations
- Process annual 1099 filings
- Assist with cash flow management
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Support audits, tax filings, and insurance reporting requirements
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Improve accounting processes and ERP system utilization
- Maintain current and accurate Accounting SOPs and ensure backup coverage for AR, AP, and Payroll
- Assist with ERP implementation and ongoing system maintenance
- Perform bookkeeping and payroll functions for a small internally managed dba
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience in construction, manufacturing, or ready-mix operations
- Experience managing an accounting staff of 2 or more
- High-volume billing and collections experience
- ERP system experience required
- ERP implementation experience a plus
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
