We are searching for a Tax Manager; the role includes the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of accountants and junior staff, including assigning tasks and reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct and oversee tax research on complex tax issues, staying current with changing tax laws and regulations.
- Advise clients on tax strategies, planning opportunities, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding tax matters, audits, and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Oversee and manage tax audits and communications with the IRS and state agencies.
- Maintain effective communication with partners, staff, and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to the firm’s operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- Active CPA license.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting, with at least some in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax law and compliance regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience with tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., CCH, Quick Books, Thomson Reuters).
