Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is a critical part of our accounting team. You’ll own key daily and weekly accounting processes that keep Weems Asphalt moving—from bank reconciliations, to AR management, to tax filings, to cash reporting. This role bridges operations and finance, ensuring that information flows accurately, timely, and with the kind of clarity that helps a growing construction company make smart decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations & Reconciliations
- Perform daily bank reconciliations for the operating account.
- Review and post all deposits.
- Review and post credit card transactions into and prepare the monthly credit card analysis.
- Manage all other balance sheet reconciliations not handled by other team members.
Accounts Receivable Excellence
- Review AR invoices and send them to clients.
- Manage the AR email inbox including waivers, job information, client requests, and follow-up documentation.
- Send weekly aging reports to internal stakeholders and support AR collection processes.
- Distribute weekly aging updates through Levelset as required.
Reporting
- Prepare and distribute the weekly cash report and AR aging for the sales and leadership teams.

- A key contributor to a finance team that provides clarity and confidence to the business.
- Someone who thrives in a construction environment where speed, accuracy, and teamwork matter.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, contracting, or another project-based industry.
- Experience with job-costing systems;
Sage Software experience is a major bonus. - Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and AR processes.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with cloud-based workflow tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related field of study.
