Cost Accounting Manager

This role partners closely with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain leadership, with a focus on standard costing, inventory, and cost of goods sold in a high-volume, domestic manufacturing environment. • Lead and oversee standard cost and inventory accounting for a domestic manufacturing operation
• Develop, maintain, and update standard costs, including bills of materials, labor routings, overhead rates, and annual cost updates
• Ensure accurate product costing and COGS reporting in compliance with GAAP
• Analyze cost of sales, material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances versus standard, budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Prepare reporting comparing standard costs to actual production costs, including margin, price/volume/mix, and profitability analysis
• Serve as a key finance business partner to manufacturing, operations, and supply chain leadership
• Present variance analysis, cost drivers, and actionable recommendations to operational leaders
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and annual planning related to manufacturing and material costs
• Assist with month-end close, including preparation and review of cost-related journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis
• Support inventory accuracy initiatives, including cycle count procedures and internal controls
• Develop in-depth knowledge of cost flow through the ERP system
• Identify and drive process improvements across costing, inventory, and manufacturing reporting
• Participate in cost reduction initiatives, vendor evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses
• Assist with audit support and preparation of schedules for year-end reviews
• Support capital expenditure analysis and operational investment decisions
• Provide guidance and light oversight related to accounts payable as needed
• Collaborate across accounting and finance teams to build scalable, repeatable processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong manufacturing cost accounting exposure
• Hands-on experience with standard costing, inventory, BOMs, and cost of goods sold
• Strong understanding of manufacturing variances, margin analysis, and cost drivers
• Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to partner effectively with operations and manufacturing leadership
• ERP experience required;
  Net Suite strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
