Modigent, Incisseeking a Senior Accountant in its Phoenix office.
This position is for an experienced accountant who wants moreopportunitiesto be involved in various accounting areas. This position will becompletinggeneral accounting processes including the close process,reconciliation and preparation of monthly financial information foroperatingcompanies,participatingwith Management in various departments, andadheringto accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and allocation entries in the General Ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly,quarterly,and year-endclose processes.
- Analyze and reconcileallbalancesheet accounts.
- Complete all construction work in process revenue and cost reconciliations and journal entries, with coordination of project managers and local operation estimates team members.
- Work closely with corporate assets group to record, maintain and reconcile all assets, including capital leases, fixed assets, and intangible assets.
- Complete all payroll entries and related reconciliations.
- Work with shared service team members (accounts payable, cash application) to ensure proper recording of all transactions and reconcile all subledgers.
- Analyze monthly income statement data to ensure complete accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Documentbusinessprocesses and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen controls.
- Analyze monthly financial data to identify trends and areas of possible risk, savings or opportunity.
- Engage insignificantinternal interaction with operations and other departments within the Organization.
- Assists auditors in timely completion of annual audits.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
- Respond to inquiries from Executives and firm wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
- Performs various special projects and tasks as required and/or requested.
- Excellent interpersonal,written,andverbal communications skills.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting.
- Ability to work in a team environment, sharing knowledge or training and mentoring peer-level team members.
- Detail-oriented and ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced accounting system and excel capabilities.
Experience:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 + years of Accounting experience
- Excellent work ethic,including a willingness to work to get the job done within aggressive deadlines
- Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug test and background screen
- Experience auditing in a public accounting firm
