As Accounting Manager you will oversee all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Responsibilities include managing the month‑end close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, providing actionable financial insights to leadership, supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and assisting with system enhancements of our ERP system.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Generate timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts.
- Track fixed assets and manage depreciation schedules.
- Prepare cash flow analyses and short‑term projections.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost tracking.
- Supervise and mentor AP and AR staff, providing guidance and coverage as needed.
- Review and approve invoices, payments, and collections processes.
- Enhance internal controls and streamline accounting workflows.
- Document and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support system upgrades and ERP implementation projects.
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with tax compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred but not required).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar preferred).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
