Senior Accountant

Base pay range

$48.00/hr - $52.00/hr

This contract role will last 2-6 months and can be remote after the Accountant is fully trained. Work directly with the Insurance Controller within a large organization. Strong accounting skills are required, but insurance experience is not required.

• Demonstrates in depth knowledge of accounting principles
• Willingness to learn the various insurance programs and coverages
• Responsible for multiple balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Prepare monthly journal entries related to insurance programs
• Assist in the month-end close process
• Responsible for management of prepaid insurance schedule and monthly amortization journal entries
• Prepare monthly financial reports related to insurance programs
• Assist in preparing audit schedules at year-end
• Assist in preparing insurance carrier audit reports
• Prepare monthly/quarterly insurance billings for various entities and assist in collections as needed
• Assist with financial reporting for annual insurance renewal
• Ability to efficiently work toward and consistently meet deadlines
• Perform special projects, other ad-hoc duties, as needed

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience
• Construction background preferable
• Insurance and/or Surety background is desirable
