Note:
Prefers 3 years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Position is a hybrid. Must be flexible. Prefers Healthcare experience and experience with Workday.
This position applies the accounting policies and practices as developed by financial management of Phoenix Children's and performs day-to-day accounting procedures with substantial independence and autonomy, generally supervised by an Accountant III or Manager.
Position Duties- Conduct procedures and maintain accounting systems needed to maintain proper records, affording strong accounting controls and services.
- Directly participate in the monthly closing process and has assigned responsibilities for researching and preparing appropriate journal entries to effect the closing.
- Identify and maintain strict checks and balances to ensure all accounts are in balance and properly accounted for as part of the monthly close process.
- Participate as assigned in preparation of monthly reporting package to senior management and/or quarterly and annual reporting packages to external audiences such as bondholders.
- Has assigned areas of accounts that receive monthly and/or other periodic reconciliations, provided to the Accountant III or Manager for review in accordance with departmental practice.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

- Required:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field coupled with 20 hours of Accounting Courses. - Preferred:
Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Required:
Two years of professional level experience in accounting or finance functions post degree.
- Required:
Moderate to strong Excel skills.
- Preferred:
Certified public accountant or certified management accountant.
