Pay Rate between $26.50and $29.50 per hour. All rates are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Position 1:
Shipping Department
Job Summary: The Large Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating large-capacity forklifts to retrieve, stage, and load pipe products for shipment. This role supports shipping operations by accurately building loads, maintaining yard organization, ensuring product quality, and complying with all safety, inventory, and documentation requirements in a large industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect forklift equipment prior to operation, log into the Shock Watch system, and report any equipment or safety concerns immediately.
- Receive pick slips from the Shipping Foreman or Shipping Clerk, review order totals, and plan proper load configurations for pipe shipping and delivery stops.
- Retrieve pipe from the yard in accordance with yard slips and stage materials on designated loading skids.
- Accurately record all pipe picked on the pick list, identify shortages, and immediately notify supervision if product cannot be located; substitutions are not permitted without authorization.
- Communicate load numbers to the Pipe Loader/Groundsman and record all required information on pick slips and yard documentation.
- While pipe loading activities are in progress, stage subsequent loads on secondary loading skids to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Notify the Pipe Loader/Groundsman of any required accessories or fittings needed to complete each load.
- Complete live loading and pre-loading of trailers with the correct pipe bundles, verifying accuracy against pick slips and ensuring proper stop order for carriers.
- Record trailer numbers for in-house carriers, initial yard slips, obtain Pipe Loader initials upon completion, and submit all completed documentation to the Foreman for verification.
- Inspect pipe bundles for cosmetic or physical defects prior to loading, identify and segregate non-conforming materials, and ensure only conforming product is shipped.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly yard, ensuring proper pipe stacking, FIFO organization of finished goods, and safe access throughout the work area.
- Support bundling forklifts, unloading bays, and yard organization activities as needed to support operations.
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts, including monthly Saturday inventories, as required.
- Operate all equipment in accordance with safety policies, procedures, and training, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency at all times.

Job Summary: The Forklift Operator/Bundle Inspector is responsible for safely operating a forklift while ensuring the accuracy and quality of bundled pipe products prior to storage and shipment. Key responsibilities include completing forklift inspections, verifying bundling ticket information, and conducting visual inspections of bundles to identify cosmetic defects, stencil legibility, and coating completeness. The operator initials bundling tickets to verify inspections, records yard storage locations, and ensures all bundles entering the shipping yard are reviewed and signed off by a quality inspector.
