Director of Facilities and Maintenance

The Director of Maintenance & Facilities leads and supports maintenance operations across a multi-property portfolio. This role partners closely with on-site property management teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance performance, including unit turns, service requests, preventative maintenance, and building systems oversight. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a hands-on, solutions-driven mindset. Requirements:

Key Responsibilities Lead and support maintenance operations across multiple communities. Partner with on-site Property Managers and Maintenance Supervisors to drive performance and consistency. Oversee unit turns, work order execution, preventative maintenance, and safety compliance. Provide technical guidance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, siding, and carpentry issues. Establish and improve standard operating procedures and maintenance best practices. Recruit, train, mentor, and develop maintenance team members.

Manage vendor relationships, pricing, performance, and quality control. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. Travel regularly to properties to support field teams and conduct site visits. Qualifications 8 years of maintenance, facilities, or property operations experience (multi-site preferred). Proven leadership experience managing teams across multiple locations. Strong technical knowledge of building systems and trades. Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and lead in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
